Fact of the Day: Lava in Austin?!

Did you know that the greater Austin area contains 10 extinct volcanoes?

 

On of them is now Pilot Knob, the eroded core of an extinct volcano located 8 miles (13 km) south of central Austin, Texas, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and McKinney Falls State Park.
