Did you know that night butterflies have ears on their wings so they can avoid bats?


Very recently, evasive behavior to batlike ultrasound was documented in nocturnal butterflies of the superfamily Hedyloidea, that have ears on their wings. These are great survival tactics for smaller and fragile insects such as the delicate butterfly.
